card.cityinmotion.nl/the-moon ☾ #facts
The first card in my deck is the one it is named for. A dark coat fills the picture, with a crescent of hammered iron pinned to its lapel. In 1574 the Sea Beggars who freed Leiden wore that crescent on their sleeve, with their slogan on it: Liever Turcks dan Paaps — rather Turkish than papist. The picture pins it to the lapel and the fact says the sleeve, so I tell you both, with the fact's number beside the claim. And look up at the town hall: there is still a crescent on every one of its small towers. card.cityinmotion.nl/the-moon ☾ #facts
